Tell us more… Little Girl
It’s your turn to tell us more about this mural in Penang… and here it is based on feedback from our readers.
What is it about?
This is another of Ernest Zacharevic’s work, a mural of a little girl in blue. The mural depicts a little girl in bright blue dress, balancing herself between two windows shades. The mural was commissioned as part of the George Town Festival 2012 celebration and completed in July 2012.
Where is it located?
The mural is located at Muntri Street on the side of a shop house that faces the compound of the Penang Goldsmith Association or the Penang Ta Kam Hong. Due to its sheer size, you can’t really miss it.
What is the girl doing?
According to sources, the little girl portrayed here was in fact a real girl pushing herself up between two desks. There have been numerous photos of her in person in the local papers. Her pose was choreographed for a photo shoot and scaled to the size it is on the mural taking into account the width of the windows and distance between the windows.
Once again the creative and artistic credit goes to Ernest for making this another successful mural and for Penang, a more colourful and vibrant place to live, work and visit.
